Canavanu was established in 2017 with a vision to improve the quality of life for those suffering from medical conditions causing severe pain and very little to no relief.

In 2016 we introduced our idea to the Vanuatu government, and in 2021 the government introduced the industrial hemp and medicinal cannabis bill in parliament.

Frank Barbaro, has more than 15 years of success in the corporate markets of Australia. His unwavering belief in the benefits of medical cannabis led him to establish the company. With his extensive experience as a CEO and a proven track record of business growth with many start ups, this hands on understanding in the operations of a new business proves a great asset to canavanu for its crucial knowledge in successful planning and decision making expertise to ensuring the success of this venture.

Tal, an instrumental figure in the company’s journey, has been working hands-on in Vanuatu since the the start of this venture. With over two decades of entrepreneurial experience, he has successfully managed diverse business operations, from hotels to the jewellery industry. His strong agricultural background and strategic vision makes him an essential part of CanaVanu’s operational leadership. Tal’s extensive connections across Asia, Israel, the UK, and Australia help steer the company’s global reach.

Dominique Barbaro

Dominique Barbaro, one of the co-founders, brings over two decades of experience in overseeing operations, financial performance, and marketing for various businesses. With expertise in consumer packaged goods, he has successfully navigated global markets and connections in Australia and the EU. Dominique’s current role involves shaping CanaVanu’s presence in the global consumer landscape.

Cheryl Thomas

Cheryl Thomas brings a wealth of expertise to CanaVanu Oil Ltd with over 18 years in the pharmaceutical and medical cannabis industry, coupled with her knowledge of pharmaceuticals, lab testing, extraction, and psychedelic pharmaceuticals. Cheryl’s experience includes international exposure and speaking engagements. A key figure in establishing partnerships and driving the company’s engagement.

Giordano Lucio Fimognari

Giordano Lucio Fimognari boasts 30 years of cultivation expertise and has been integral to multiple successful businesses. His deep understanding of cultivation and commercial indoor agriculture directly influences CanaVanu’s success. Giordano’s role as Grand Master Grower brings unparalleled insights to product development and market strategy.

Michael Carl Watson

CFO

Michael Carl Watson, a Chartered Accountant with 46+ years of experience, is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He’s a Chartered Tax Adviser, Registered Company Auditor, and Tax Agent. He’s expanded businesses across Asia and advised on international joint ventures, including the Government Employees Health Fund.
